Our History
The Saint Sava Oplenac folklore group was started in 1974. We started at St. Sava Church on River St, in Toronto. The group then moved to Mississauga to be a part of the All Saints Serbian Orthodox Church.
Our group is named after Saint Sava. He was known as the Enlightener, was a Serbian prince and Orthodox monk, the first Archbishop of the Serbian Church.
We are affiliated with the All Saints Serbian Orthodox Church. We are non-profit organization. We have been fortunate enough to have had hundreds & thousands of children & adults come through its hall over the years, and has performed hundreds of events throughout North America & Europe. We will continue to keep that spirit alive going forward as well now, and for the next generations.
The tradition of singing, dancing and joy continues today with young and old alike.
We invite you to join us!
